Santa Monica Seafood
Santa Monica Seafood is one of the best-known purveyors of quality seafood on the west coast, serving restaurants and residents alike since 1939. Inspired by this rich brand heritage, Shook Kelley designed their newest location to reflect two distinct yet complementary concepts: an industrial dockside warehouse that references their original location on the Santa Monica pier, and a rustic Mediterranean café that pays tribute to the Italian origins of the owners, the Cigliano family.

The fishing boat-inspired oyster bar features an aged Italian wall mural and a custom-designed antique mirror.

The store front is warm and inviting, while the rear entrance reflects the industrial warehouse aesthetic, with hand-painted wall murals and a plank-wood water tower situated on the rooftop.

The Chef's Corner showcases local area chefs who have chosen Santa Monica Seafood as their wholesale seafood supplier.

The specialty food section features mosaic tilework, interchangeable chalkboards and shipping crate-style category signage.

The shipping crate theme is carried through to the wall-mounted shelving displays, which feature custom stencil-painted graphics.

Prior to our redesign, the space was home to a fast food chain restaurant.
