Press Releases January 2006 / Shook Kelley Scholarship Recipient Announced
Mr. Drew Wilgus has been announced as the third recipient of the “Shook Kelley Design Scholarship” for the 2005-06 Academic Year. Mr. Wilgus is a student in the College of Architecture at UNC-Charlotte. The announcement was made in Shook Kelley’s behalf by Mr. Ken Lambla, AIA, Dean of the College of Architecture at UNC-Charlotte.
Dean Lambla had this to say about Mr. Wilgus:
"He has been an active participant in many programs, including our 2005 Summer Italy Program. He is a calm, quiet leader who has carefully refined his skills. The CoA Scholarship Committee has recommended him with high distinction for his professionalism and outlook toward community involvement in his career."
Shook Kelley established the “Shook Kelley Scholarship Award” in 2002 as an Award of Excellence. The scholarship is awarded each year to a chosen student upon completion of their fourth year of study in the College of Architecture. A primary goal of the Shook Kelley Scholarship Award is to give students additional incentive to complete their graduate studies in architecture prior to beginning their professional careers.
