Kevin Kelley Founding Partner and Principal
Kevin Kelley is a founding partner and principal of Shook Kelley. Mr. Kelley graduated from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, receiving his bachelor’s degree in architecture in 1987. He is an accredited member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA), and a member of the Urban Land Institute (ULI) and the International Downtown Association.
Mr. Kelley serves as principal-in-charge of brand strategy and conceptual design for retail, restaurant, grocery store, consumer packaged goods and leisure destination clients. As a self proclaimed “anti-architect,” Mr. Kelley’s specialty is getting inside the minds of consumers and determining how the physical environment affects a consumer’s choices, comfort level, retention and purchasing behaviors.
As a frequent guest lecturer at seminars across the country, Mr. Kelley speaks on the topics of retail, food, branding, communities and consumer behavior. Recent speaking engagements include: 2006 Harley-Davidson Dealer Operations Training Seminar; 2006 Vine Conference; 2005 Pacific Coast Builders Conference; 2005 TREX (Total Retail Experience) Conference; 2004 FMI (Food Marketing Institute) Chicago and San Francisco Conferences; 2004 Hospitality Design Conference; and the 2004 National Restaurant Association Conference. Mr. Kelley has taught professional courses on branding and marketing at Harvard University and the College of Architecture for the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. |
