The Green Mill
Dating back to the Prohibition era when Capone and Chicago gangsters used the club as a headquarters, the Green Mill carries on a tradition of the classic late night metro speakeasy. The Mill is in an extremely seedy neighborhood, but the live jazz bands play into the wee hours and the place is always packed. Though most shows kick off by 8pm or 9pm, the bar doesn’t knock off until 4am or 5am. It is also the “after gig drop in” for big time jazz musicians who are passing through the Windy City on tour. One of the best lounges in America for a late-night single malt or martini – and some laid back smoky jazz.

Penny’s Noodles
Quick, easy, inexpensive, quality recipes and simple decor make up this Chicago noodle institution. Featuring an Asian fusion menu that is predominantly noodle dishes, but the Spring Rolls and Red Curry are also fantastic.
