A virtually unknown Lower East Side speakeasy – and the owners want to keep it that way. Once a men’s tailor shop – in fact the mannequin in the window is still dressed in a dust covered suit. No sign out front, no ads, and no drink specials, one must simply be fortunate enough to have been given a business card with the bar’s phone number and address by someone else in the know. Classic, dark, comfortable and the drinks are out of this world. Try the Mojito or the Mint Julip, made fresh to order. Good luck getting the number of this joint – it changes 2 or 3 times a year. |
